Privacy notice
How Westcombe Waste Ltd collects and uses personal information through this website and in the course of our business.
Who we are. Westcombe Waste Ltd (company number 02205997) of Somerton Commercial Recycling Centre, Somertonfield Road, Somerton, Somerset TA11 6HY is the data controller for the information described in this notice. You can contact us about data protection at invoices@westcombe-mrf.co.uk or by post at the address above.
Information we collect
Enquiry form. When you use the enquiry form we collect the details you enter: your name, company, email address, telephone number and message. We use these to respond to your enquiry and, where you go on to become a customer, to set up and manage your account. The lawful basis is our legitimate interest in responding to business enquiries and, where applicable, the performance of a contract.
Email and telephone. If you contact us directly we keep the correspondence for as long as it is needed to deal with your enquiry or manage your account.
Customer and supplier records. We hold the business contact details, account information and transaction records (including weighbridge tickets and waste transfer documentation) that we need to trade with you and to meet our legal obligations under environmental and tax law.
Website usage. This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Our hosting provider processes standard server logs (such as IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running; these are held for a limited period under the provider’s own retention policy.
Sharing
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers who help us run the business (for example our website hosting, email and accounting providers), with regulators where we are legally required to do so, and with our professional advisers. Waste transfer documentation is shared with the parties to the transfer as the law requires.
Retention
Enquiries that do not lead to business are deleted within 12 months. Customer, supplier and compliance records are kept for as long as the law requires — typically six years after the end of the relationship for accounting records, and longer where permit conditions require.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to ask for a copy of the information we hold about you, to have it corrected or erased, to object to or restrict its use, and to data portability where applicable. To exercise any of these rights email invoices@westcombe-mrf.co.uk. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
